What do we mean by keyword stuffing and stacking?
Overusing keywords in Meta tags and content is keyword stuffing. Here are a few areas where webmasters and SEO companies try to use this technique.
• Content • Meta tags • “Hidden or invisible” text.
Content: overuse of keywords in content is known as keyword stuffing and will not help you. This type of content is annoying for readers (your visitors). They will get put off and leave, and this will result in wasted traffic. It is unacceptable to Googlebots. This can lead to Google banning you without warning.
Meta tags: using a keyword over and over again is termed as keyword stacking and is the main reason that keyword meta tags are not important to the search engines any more. This will not effect your visitors but will annoy search engine bots.

“Hidden or invisible” text:
• This text is hidden from your reader and is simply white text on a white background. This is made of nonsense sentences, which are keyword stuffed. This obviously will not go down well with Googlebots. • CSS “Z” this is when you position text behind images. It is hidden from visitors and visible only to search engine bots • CSS absolute positioning this will place the text away from the center, again the text is hidden from visitors and only visible to search engines. • ”Noscript” tags are used to place hidden text for the search engines only • Inserted test is sometimes used. With all sorts of popular search terms which have no relevence to your business.
As you can see keyword stuffing and stacking really will not help you much. It may bring traffic and visitors in but they will get annoyed and leave without even giving your site the benefit of the doubt. You are in effect shooting yourself in the foot and certainly wasting a lot of time and traffic.
Google bots get annoyed too and they will send the red alert to the Google database. This can very likely causes Google to penalize you and send your site to the sand box. This will destroy all your hard work and leave you with the big problem of how to get out of the sandbox without having to redo your site.
So do not try to trick Google with these time consuming little tricks it just is not worth it. A better way is not to fight Google but to partner with them. Remember their customers are your visitors and potential customers. In actual fact you have a common goal with Google so why make enemies when you can work as friends?
