Making a Pathway for the Googlebots Within Your Site.
It is important that you make pathways for the Googlebots to find them.
Do not assume that just because your home page is indexed your whole site will be. Googlebots are robots and need a little guidance.
What are the Googlebots and what do they do? They are Google’s little spy robots. They travel the World Wide Web in search of websites. When they find sites they collect information from them. This is termed as crawling a website. The Googlebots use keywords and links to do this.

They carry this information back to the Google database.
There the information is sorted and indexed using Google’s special algorithms called Page Rank. When this information is indexed SERP pages are built. Websites are positioned on the SERP page according to the Page Rank that hey have been awarded. Searchers put in keywords that will bring up SERP pages that are relevant to the keyword.
So how to make pathways for Googlebots to find pages on your site?
-Optimize your content with good keywords that are relevant to your business -Pay attention to your internal links: make sure all of your pages have links for robots to follow -Make your links anchor links:-use keyword text for your links. These will be stored in the Google database as valuable information on your site. Plus these links are easy for Google bots to follow. -Do not link too deep: Only link down to the second level as Google bots are not programmed to look further than this. -1st level is your main navigation links on your home page, or your actual Navigation bar links. -2nd level are the links on these pages -If you do not want Googlebots to go to certain parts of your site you can make special Robot tags to instruct them not to go there. You can also make robot tags to instruct them to visit your site in a certain number of days. For example: <Meta Name="ROBOTS" Content="index, follow"><Meta Name="Revisit-after" Content="5 Days">

Remember that Googlebots are not human they are robots but they have been programmed by humans.
These humans have worked out the specific algorithms that will guide the Googlebots to pick up certain information from your site. It is very important to know what Google is actually looking for when they judge a site. This will make the difference of being among the elite top 10 and being lost in oblivion in the Google search engine
So what have the Googlebots been programmed to look for?
-Link popularity- the quantity and quality of your site’s links -Quality websites-a useful user friendly website that looks professional -Good relevant and optimized content -Making sure your site is relevant and useful to anyone finding it through a certain keyword.
Try to make it easy on the Googlebots and give them every chance to find all the information they can on your website. In this way you will increase your chances of getting a good Page Rank in Google and in turn getting a top 10 position in the Google search engine.
