Optimizing secondary pages
When optimizing your site it is very important not to forget your Secondary pages.
Webmasters often assume that because the home page or index page has been submitted the whole site will be indexed. This is simply not so. You have to optimize all your pages for the Googlebots to find and get data on them. Failure to do so will result in these pages not getting indexed. Firstly let’s clear up what a secondary page means: They are just all the pages on your site excluding your home page.

So why bother to optimize these pages?
-Each of your pages will have a Page Rank if Googlebots crawl them and they can all be different. These will all add up and be averaged out by Google and can give your site a better overall Page Rank. -Different pages will appear in different positions in the Google search engine. More chances to be found and gather visitors.
Here’s a brief overview of how to optimize your pages.
-Meta tags are not really too important now but there are two you will need. -Title: this is the 1st tag on your page and will be in-between the headers. It should be the title of your page. It will look like this <title>Your title</title> -Description: This will be your next tag and will just be an extension of your title phrase. Do not make this more than 14-20 words long. It will look like this <meta name="description" content="your description here"> -Robot command tags: sometimes you need to tell the robots to visit your site at certain intervals or just request them not to visit a certain page. an example is For example <Meta Name="ROBOTS" Content="index, follow"><Meta Name="Revisit-after" Content="5 Days">

Optimizing your content:
-Use one of your key phrases as the title of your content page. This should be an eye-catching headline and draw the reader into your content. -Tailor your content around it: sprinkle your keywords throughout the body of your content. You can use isolation key wording to do this. Just use your title phrase and keywords within it. You make different keywords for each of your pages of content -Do not stuff keywords, or overuse them, 3%-3.5% per page is the normal ratio. Google prefers 3%.
Linking your secondary pages: do not link too deep or the Googlebots will not find your pages. Only go as far as level two. What do we mean by level one and two? Level one is any page linking from your home page or link bar. Level two is when the page links from those pages.
From these points you will see that secondary pages are more important than you may have previously thought. So when you submit your website don’t forget these pages. They can make more difference to your overall ranking than you assumed. It is not hard to do and may take a little more time but will be well worth the effort.
