-You can also check that all the links are working and taffic is really going to the site
-Make sure the domain name is relevant to your business.
-Check on searches: You can check this on overture search tool. First with the extension for the URL and next without the extension just as a keyword or phrase. You can see how many searches were made in the last month.
-The Page Rank: check on http://www.seologs.com/pr-check/pagerank.html for an accurate one
-History of the domain: find out what the domain was used for by looking on the wayback archive in Alexa
-Be sure it is indexed by Google: Just look up the URL on Google
